Rep. Griffey testifies on Hope Card bill

Rep. Dan Griffey, R-Allyn, speaks in committee on House Bill 1766 to create the Hope Card program to help domestic violence survivors and others who have protection orders against their abusers. The Hope Card will be a small laminated card that includes most of the information included in a protection order but fits in a purse or wallet eliminating the need for survivors to carry large packets of legal documents with them as proof of a protection order against an individual. The bill was signed by the governor May 4. The Hope Card is expected to become available in 2025.
