Rep. Griffey to continue leadership role in House Republican Caucus

Following a virtual vote by his peers Monday, Dan Griffey will continue to serve in his role as Whip of the Washington State House Republican Caucus.

“I’m excited and grateful to continue serving in this position and I’m truly honored to receive this vote of confidence from my fellow caucus members,” said Griffey, R-Allyn.

Griffey was first elected to the position in November of 2018. In his role as Whip, his duties and responsibilities include counting votes and helping maintain decorum during floor action and caucus meetings. Prior to being elected Whip, Griffey was an Assistant Whip.

“This will be an unprecedented legislative session, as we move to a virtual, remote format. Serving as the Whip and helping maintain decorum will be vital to a smooth session. But I’m confident our leadership team and our entire caucus will navigate this new way of doing things in a very professional manner,” added Griffey.

The 2021 session is scheduled to begin Monday, January 11.
