Committee Testimony: Rep. Dan Griffey targets statutes of limitation on sex crimes

Lawmakers in Olympia are currently considering a bill that would eliminate the statutes of limitation on a variety of sex crimes, including rape, rape of a child and child molestation.  Two survivors of sex crimes testified during a committee hearing on House Bill 2873, which is sponsored by Rep. Dan Griffey, R-Allyn.  Their goal today is to see the law changed in order to help victims in a way that current statutes could not help them.  Griffey, who is a firefighter, also spoke briefly.  A portion of the testimony, which includes that of his wife Dinah Griffey, and another survivor of child sexual abuse, can be heard here.
